What this site collects, and what it doesn’t

Short version: I don’t sell anything about you, I don’t run ads, and the only thing I ever ask for is an email address — and only if you offer it.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people actually read. It sets cookies and records things like the pages you view, roughly where in the world you are, and what kind of device and browser you’re using. It does not tell me who you are.

If you’d rather not be counted, Google publishes an opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and most browsers’ “block third-party cookies” or private-browsing modes will also do the job.

The newsletter

If you type your email into the signup box, that address is stored with Resend, the service that sends the mail. It’s used for one thing: telling you when there’s news about the books.

It is never sold, rented, or handed to anyone else. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also just reply and ask to be taken off — that works too.

Email

If you write to Jack, he keeps the email so he can answer it. That’s the whole policy.

Other services this site touches

A few third parties see your request simply because your browser has to talk to them to load the page:

• Vercel hosts the site and keeps standard server logs.
• Google Fonts serves the three typefaces, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads.
• Amazon receives nothing unless you click through to buy the book, at which point their privacy policy applies, not this one.

Children

The book is written for readers aged 10 and up, and teachers and librarians are welcome here. But this site is not directed at children for data-collection purposes, and I don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. The newsletter is meant for adults — parents, teachers, and grown-up readers.

If you believe a child has given us an email address, write to hello@joaquinstorres.com and it will be deleted.

Your choices

You can ask what’s stored about you, ask for it to be deleted, or ask to be removed from the list — any of it, at any time, for any reason, without explaining why. One email does it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
