Every year I meet students who have already decided that books are not for them. Nobody told them that. They worked it out on their own, from years of being handed things that were dry, dense, and slow.
So I wrote the kind of book I wanted to put in their hands. Fast. Clear. Always moving. I cut the long descriptions that lose them and left the story.
Then I gave it to them.
They finished it. Then they asked what happens next — which is the only review I have ever really cared about.
